Is It Tomorrow, Yet?

Today, my friends, has been a day. And by that, I mean it’s been A. DAY.

To start with, I woke up late, so spent the first 30 minutes of my day rushing around, trying to get showered (hallelujah!), get the girls fed and dressed, and then out the door to take Goose Face to preschool.

I walk out the door to finally load them in the car, and this is what I find (and yes, it really is that messy pretty much all the time):

I all but stomped and grumbled, all the way back into the house, as my hubby is calling to let me know that the car seats are not in the car. Yes, I know. Thanks for the heads up.

So, I figure I’ll just let the girls play outside. It can’t really be THAT hot, can it?

Holy crap, it is. And it looks like it’s only going to get worse for the next couple of days.

Change of plans (again!). We decide to hang out in the playroom and have some fun. And then, I walked away for all of 2 minutes and I came back to this:

I swear, this friggin’ playroom never stays clean. I can spend all day cleaning it up, and the girls are following right behind me, dumping everything out again.

But, how can I be mad about the mess when Goose and Monkey are so darn cute?!

To top it off (although it’s really not that bad, other than just being one more thing to add to today’s list), I went to get the mail and I found that the mushroom garden was back in my front yard.

I cannot get rid of these little guys for the life of me – no matter what I do! (Suggestions, anyone….).

And so, I am now resorting to this:

It’s my second of the day. :-) I had forgotten to put a few in the fridge, so I had to pour it over ice.

Vodka would be a great end to the day. But, of course, I’m out. Awesome.

Tomorrow can only get better!

Happy Tuesday!

Update: As my sweet friend, Nichole (Yeung Mother Hubbard) pointed out to me…I did have something GREAT happen today. I got a ticket to The SoCal Social!! I’m super excited!! Thanks, Nichole!

The “Why”s Have Begun

Goose Face and I sat in the “fwaywoom” (playroom to those of you who don’t speak 2 1/2 year old) today and she wanted to watch a movie.

So, we started watchingFinding Nemo. After about 2 minutes she didn’t want to watch that one anymore.

So, we started watching Tarzan. After about 2 minutes she didn’t want to watch that one anymore, either.

We went over to the movies together and she picked out Peter Pan as her THIRD movie choice within 10 minutes. As I was setting up the DVD to play, we had a conversation that went like this:

Mommy: This is the last movie we are going to choose.

Goose Face: Why?

Mommy: Because we are not going to keep switching movies.

Goose Face: Why?

Mommy: Because mommy doesn’t want to keep changing them out. We need to choose one and watch it.

Goose Face: Why?

Mommy: Because that’s not being a good girl to keep switching movies. (Yes, I totally pulled the “not being a good girl” line on her. Mom Of The Year right here, friends.)

Goose Face: Why?

Mommy: BECAUSE MOMMY SAID SO!

I left Peter Pan in and walked away. Five minutes later she was next to me again, saying “Mommy, my don’t like that one T.D. My don’t like POOTER PAN. My want to watch Toys.”

I guess I should appreciate the fact that she made it for five minutes that time instead of two?

Happy Tuesday!

Annndddd…..We Have A Tub Pooper

Yes, this post will probably be waaayyyy TMI for most of you – you’re welcome to leave now. But, for my mommy friends that do stick it out with me, I hope that at least SOME of you can relate!

While growing up, my sister was a tub pooper (she’s going to hate me for writing this). As soon as her little tush hit the water, she’d poop. Every. Single. Time. (Ok, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but in my memory that’s for sure how it was). And, since my mom pretty much always gave us a bath at the same time, I was always in the tub when she pooped. Gross.

Once Goose Face came along, I always had the “tub pooper” thought in the back of my head anytime I gave her a bath. But, she never did. The worst thing that she’s ever done as far as bath time goes is peeing on the floor after the bath and telling me that “Ali Girl (one of our Yorkies) would eat it”. OMG. Seriously, kid? But, at least it was just pee.

Here’s a photo of Goose Face and Ali Girl, taken a few months ago.

Actually, now that I think about it, after the very first bath that the hubby and I gave Goose Face, she completely let loose – pun intended - as soon as we got her towel on. We looked at each other in complete shock at first and then just burst out laughing. What else do you do in that situation?!

Which now brings us to Crazy Monkey. She’s a tub pooper. She didn’t used to be. When she was an infant, and we would give her a bath in the sink by herself, she NEVER pooped. Then, once she was old enough to sit up in the bath by herself, we started giving the girls a bath together. And the tub pooping began. I don’t think she did it the first couple of times, but she has done it several times since. So. Completely. Gross.

And, she did it again tonight! Grrrrr….. My fear of “what if my child poops in the tub” has now turned into “Please don’t let my child poop in the tub tonight. I really don’t have the energy to clean it up – all I want to do is get my kids in bed, make a drink, and plop myself on the couch.” That plea only works about half the time.

But, then again, how can I really bethatannoyed when Crazy Monkey is this super cute?! Granted, this picture is a few months old, but it’s just so stinkin’ adorable (and totally sums up her personality).

Am I going to have CPS called on me for posting this? Seriously, what our world has come to these days… Get a grip, people!

Does anyone else have a tub pooper? Please tell me I’m not the only one!

Happy Wednesday!
