:What I Whipped Up Wednesday: {Recap}

It’s been NUTS around our house lately! Now that I’ve taken Goose out of preschool, I’m still struggling to find some sort of routine that helps me to stay sane, and fills our days with stuff to do at the same time. Honestly, there are many times that I don’t even know what day it is – like this week.

BUT, I have figured out that it’s Wednesday. Which means that the new What I Whipped Up Wednesday link-up over at Sugar and Dots is LIVE!

Before you head over that way, here are my favorites from last week:

DIY Chemical-Free Comet

Just this morning, I was staring at my kitchen sink and thinking how disgusting it is. In my home back in Texas we had a stainless steel sink, which easy to keep make it look like it is clean. However, out here in Cali, we are renting and have an ugly white porcelain sink. Nothing we can do about it, but it is a complete pain in my ass to keep clean. I use Comet, but I hate the fact that it has bleach in it, because I always end up splashing it on my clothes (annoying). This DIY cleanser, from Royal Daughter Designs, is DEFINITELY something I am going to try out. I’m super excited about this one. :-)

Shortcut Oatmeal Cream Football Pies

  OMG. These are, like, heaven-sent. I have a serious addiction to Oatmeal Cream Pies. To the point that, when I go to the gas station, I always have to get one. And I never share with my kids. So, when I came across these super adorable (any super yummy looking) Oatmeal Cream Football Pies, they immediately went on my “to bake” list. Props to Kitchen Fun with My Three Sons for giving me a junk food recipe that I can make for myself, but act like I’m making for football company.

Halloween Glass Blocks with Lights

Now that I’m no longer working on my party supplies (sad story, but so worth it to be able to spend more time with my family), my Silhouette Cameo just sits and stares at me, begging to be used. There are so many ideas I have of things to make with my Cameo, but I just don’t know what to make first. With Halloween just around the corner, I really want to make a few Halloween items. My home decorations are seriously lacking for this particular holiday. So, when I came across these super cute block light decorations from Alderberry Hill, I knew this would be my next project. I love that I can use my Cameo to cut the vinyl letters, and I think adding a few stickers or some bling will jazz it up that much more.

Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie

This one is definitely for the hubby. He loves cheesecake, and he loves strawberry cheesecake ice cream. So, this smoothie recipe from Serenity You is a total winner. It’s still hot here, so it’s the perfect time to try this recipe out. Hopefully I don’t sample too much and leave none for the hubby!

Book Club Keepsake Journal

Back in Texas I belonged to a few different book clubs at various points in time. I loved each of them because not only did they push me to read more, but they also gave me adult conversation with great groups of women. Since moving to California, it’s been very hard not knowing many people and not getting that “girlfriend time” that I so love. But, I’m slowly meeting new people and making new friends, and just this past week one of my new Cali friends invited me to join a book club that she is starting. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was when she invited me (to the point that I literally wanted to jump up and down, but the hubby was standing right next to me and I didn’t want to look like a complete idiot – otherwise I probably would have…). When I came across this book club keepsake journal, from Embrace the Everyday, I thought it would be a fun activity to create to go along with my new book club. Who knows, maybe the other girls will be interested in all of us making one together (along with food and wine, of course).

Head over to Sugar and Dots and add your newest creations to the link-up. There’s even a giveaway going on! And, don’t forget to check out my Sugar and Dots Style Report on Friday (plus extra fashion fun here on the blog)!

    The football cream pies look yummy- but you know what I would do? I’d go the easy route and just buy a box of the big ones and cut em into football shapes lol.
