The “Why”s Have Begun

Goose Face and I sat in the “fwaywoom” (playroom to those of you who don’t speak 2 1/2 year old) today and she wanted to watch a movie.

So, we started watchingFinding Nemo. After about 2 minutes she didn’t want to watch that one anymore.

So, we started watching Tarzan. After about 2 minutes she didn’t want to watch that one anymore, either.

We went over to the movies together and she picked out Peter Pan as her THIRD movie choice within 10 minutes. As I was setting up the DVD to play, we had a conversation that went like this:

Mommy: This is the last movie we are going to choose.

Goose Face: Why?

Mommy: Because we are not going to keep switching movies.

Goose Face: Why?

Mommy: Because mommy doesn’t want to keep changing them out. We need to choose one and watch it.

Goose Face: Why?

Mommy: Because that’s not being a good girl to keep switching movies. (Yes, I totally pulled the “not being a good girl” line on her. Mom Of The Year right here, friends.)

Goose Face: Why?

Mommy: BECAUSE MOMMY SAID SO!

I left Peter Pan in and walked away. Five minutes later she was next to me again, saying “Mommy, my don’t like that one T.D. My don’t like POOTER PAN. My want to watch Toys.”

I guess I should appreciate the fact that she made it for five minutes that time instead of two?

Happy Tuesday!
